Exercise 10A
Revisit the data story you each presented in your blog post. In particular, you should check:
- Reach: Did the audience even receive your message at all? Who did and who didn’t?
- Understanding: Did the audience interpret the data message in the way you intended?
- Impact: Did the audience react in the way you wanted them to react?
Exercise 10B
For the following data stories, discuss with your peers:
- What are the main messages of the story?
- What elements of statistical persuasion was the data story focused on conveying?
- What are some narrative structure and techniques used to present the story in an effective manner?
